IN THE EVENT OF POSSIBLE SCHOOL CLOSING
Bad weather may be headed our way! Snow, high winds,
and cold temperatures are a bad combination.
It may be necessary to cancel school. Be prepared for possible
school closing. However, it may be early
morning before a determination can be made. The following is a guide:
EARLY MORNING: You are asked to listen to W.M.I.X.
radio station 94 FM at 6:05, 6:30, 7:05,
7:30 and 8:00 a.m. School closing may also be heard on WIBI radio
station 89.7. School closing will also
appear on television or websites of WSIL, channel 3 and KFVS, channel 12.
If we have not closed and your
child(ren) normally ride the bus in the morning, and you decide to bring them to
school during questionable
weather, please contact Tina Kash (231-1704) before 7:30 a.m.
MID-DAY: If we are already at school, we will
never send students home on the bus early when a snow/ice
storm hits during the middle of the day. Parents may come to the school
and pick up their child(ren) early (excused),
if they are concerned about roads.
EVENING: Watch the above mentioned TV stations.
Note: WMIX does not run school closings on air
at specific times during the evening. Check the above television station
websites.
I really appreciate the way parents help out during bad
weather or during other bus problems we may have!
If you are on the Parent Phone Tree, Tina will notify the top two names as soon
as I call her. Please call the
person below you.
We have three more emergency days built into our calendar,
after using three with the break-in. Hopefully, the
weather will not be bad all winter!
